Michelle Brooks : Head Chef
From an early age Michelle has had a passion and aptitude for the world of cookery. Coming from an Italian background and growing up with a love of good food and produce instilled in her, helping and working in her family’s 3rd generation Restaurants and Hotels, it was only natural after a brief period of working in the Financial sector of the City, that she returned to her roots and love of cooking where she is most at home. Cooking colourful, delicious, healthy dishes using local produce and fresh ingredients.
Having moved to France from the UK nearly 10 years ago Michelle and her husband Rob have successfully been managing and running the Villas in Longeville sur Mer for the past 7 years.
Rob Brooks: House and activities manager
Rob started life off in the financial sector of the City but has always been a hands on, practical person. After several years of commuting, Rob re-trained and set up his own successful building company in the UK, constructing and renovating Grade listed homes and new builds. In 2009 he and his wife Michelle moved permanently to France. Rob has both helped to design and solely construct both the villas at Longeville sur Mer. For the past 7 years he and his wife Michelle have been successfully managing and maintaining the villas for clients.
Rob has always been a water sports fanatic and has windsurfed and surfed from a young age. Nutrition and gym being a close second as is tennis!
Deborah: Vinyasa Yoga flow teacher
“Hi, my name is Deborah and I teach Yoga classes in Vendée. After 22 years living in Paris working for big companies, I decided to move to the ocean side, for its tranquillity and peaceful atmosphere, where you can always resource yourself. Share this through yoga, a whole philosophy and my way of life, is my passion. In each class I teach breathing techniques, relaxation, asanas or postures and relaxation. One hour to reconnect to yourself and feel positively energised. See you on the mat!”
Mikael: Surf instructor
Mikael has been teaching how to surf for several years. Surf is his passion and loves to share it through his work. The spots that are available in Vendee are perfect to learn. Sometimes the waves are small and easier to master, sometimes they can be a little more demanding but all the time, fun. Surf is a great way to discover the coast on another point of view: when you sit on your board, watching the sunset on the coast, everything looks different.
Lesley: Masseuse, Reflexologist
Practising as a nurse in Oxford for many years I soon realised that there was a vital place for holistic therapies alongside medical treatment. Even more so, in preventing health problems before they manifest in our bodies.
So I embarked on my journey in working as a holistic therapist and qualified as a masseuse back in the 90s. I also qualified as a Reiki practitioner.
In 2004 I moved to france with my family. I continued nursing and doing my therapy work. In 2011, I qualified as a reflexologist having undertaken a 2 year reflexology course incorporating chinese medicine at l’école de réflexologie à Montaigu.
I was then able to open my clinic offering massage, reflexology and healing (I am a reiki master too).
It always ceases to amaze me how powerful these therapies can be and their wonderful effects they can have. Stress is a known factor in contributing to health problems so why not reduce some of your stress that has accumulated?
All these therapies can help reduce stress even though they work in different ways. Although reflexology works more with specific health energy imbalances.
So why not treat yourself to some ‘you’ time and find that ‘well being’ feeling that’s so important for good health?
