We have combined and converted our two neighbouring villas into a luxury retreat. Situated in the beautiful area of the Vendée, offering you peace, tranquillity, rejuvenation and relaxation as well as fabulous home cooked, healthy cuisine.

In a private location only 75 metres from a 9km sandy beach on the Atlantic coast, these luxurious hideaways provide accommodation for up to 14 people, offering the perfect package of wellness, healthy living and regeneration.

The concept of this retreat has been developed by Dr Patrick Bowler and his wife Pauline who both strongly believe that a combination of good nutrition, relaxation , mindfulness, exercise and social cohesion contribute to optimum health, longevity and well being


New, spacious, contemporary house by a sandy beach. Furnished and equipped to a very high standard. Three en-suite bedrooms, sleeps up to 6 adults and a Yoga studio. Tranquil location amongst the pines, with landscaped gardens and a Zen area. Private heated pool, Jacuzzi and stone built BBQ with seating area. Shops and restaurants within 10 minutes walk.

As well as health & wellness breaks, for those passing through France,  the Beach Retreat offers an ideal stop over night or two, to rest and recuperate before continuing your journey.

Well known for its many gently sloping beaches which are ideal for water sports or just sunbathing. The region is also noted for the ‘Venise Vert’ (Green Venice) canal system, many kms of cycle paths, enjoying the medieval towns and several theme parks for adults and children. Close by are the Indian adventure park and newly opened O’Gliss water park

Nearby is the wonderfully lively and fashionable town of La Rochelle and the Ile de Re. Pedestrianised shopping areas in the old town, great choice of restaurants and cafes and bars on the harbour and back streets make for a lovely day out. Les Sables D’Olonne, well known for the start and finish of the round the solo world yacht race, is 30 kms up the coast. En route you pass a car museum and horse racing track. Glorious beaches, shops and restaurants and the harbour area provide plenty for a day out. Further afield are the canals and waterways of the Marais Poitevin with amazing wildlife.

Major attractions like Futuroscope and Puy du Fou are an hour or so away. Added to that, there are interesting historical towns, markets, shopping centres, châteaux, museums, zoos, aquariums and a wide range of sporting venues including golf, tennis, riding.

The Vendee has sunny climate equal to that in the South of France. This means the season extends from Easter to late October – the average monthly temperature in September is 70 degrees.
